May 2003 marked the centenary of the opening of Coronation Gardens.
 

Thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund, Coronation Gardens has been refurbished and to commemorate 100 years of this much loved park in the heart of Leyton, we are delighted to publish:

Coronation Gardens: the oral history of an urban park.

We've looked back over a century of Coronation Gardens' history, finding out about the planning, the construction, and its changing part in Leyton's life. We talked to more than 20 local people about what the Gardens meant to them at different periods of their lives. Mr Heath knew it when he was courting and for him it was the 'Hyde Park of Leyton'.
